Cinnamon Grand Colombo

Great hotel which lived up to all expectations. Nice premises and exceptionally kind staff. Very nice breakfast with anything you might desire. Water supplied to rooms every day. Beds were excellent and rooms had little or no noise. We stayed 4 nights and the insignificance of the following two small issues testifies to the excellent running of the hotel. 1. Breakfast restaurant has a proper espresso machine (unlike many other good hotels) but coffee does not reach the potential. Coffee is perfectly fine and similar to what you get from a top-of-the-line automated machine. However, if some individuals were trained appropriately, then from a coffee geek’s point of view, the could become great. 🤓 2. Spending 3 days by the pool and wishing to lie in the shadow, only option was to use sunbeds under some big trees with many birds dropping onto you and your sunbed. Staff routinely swapped towels and mattresses for clean ones. Would be nice with a few moveable sunshades so one would not have to lie “in constant fear” under the birds. 😅 By the pool there occasionally was smelly from outside the hotel premises. Thanks for a great stay.

The dinner buffet offered good and yummy-tasting food overall. However, there are a few areas that need significant improvement, especially considering the price paid. Lighting Issues The lighting in the dinner area was very poor, making it difficult to take good photos. To truly capture the beauty of the experience, more well-lit areas are needed. Without better lighting, the current setup doesn't justify the cost. (The area with wooden area, near pool side) Sweet Corner & Fruit Selection The sweet corner lacked variety, and the presentation of fruits was disappointing. All the fruits were mixed together, making it hard to select. To enhance the value and experience, consider offering a wider selection of delicious, individual fruits, even if it means a slight increase in the per-person amount. Food Preparation Unfortunately, the chicken was not roasted properly. This impacted the overall enjoyment of the meal. Overall good taste few things that should improve.
