Citadines Waterfront Kota Kinabalu

I had a wonderful stay at Citadines Waterfront Kota Kinabalu! The location is absolutely perfect — right by the waterfront with stunning sunset views and easy access to shopping, restaurants, and local attractions. The room was clean, spacious, and modern, with all the amenities I needed for a comfortable stay. I especially appreciated the small kitchen and cozy seating area — it felt like a home away from home. The staff were friendly, professional, and always willing to help with a smile. Check-in and check-out were smooth and efficient. Highly recommended for both short and long stays. I’ll definitely come back again! ---

TLDR: New hotel, nice design, near town. But not up to standard, not worth the price. In summary: Pros: 1. Nice pool design and Jacuzzi, separated from condo The Shore residents. 2. Plenty of carpark. Free. Easy in and out, once plate registered. 3. Room is well designed, looks new and kitchen is well functional too 4. Long hours for facilities (6-10 for pool) and (24 hr for gym) Cons: 1. Basic amenities are missing: - no tissue paper for face - no towels for guest to swim - room shower area has no place to put shampoo etc 2. Very slow check in process. Not sure if the staff was new 3. My room type has one option with bathtub and one without. Charge the same price. Make it make sense. They can't give me the one with bathtub, so I paid for nothing. 4.Buffet is...... bad.

I wouldn't recommend going there. I stayed 1 night. Going there for more is a definite no. Under renovation. The lobby smells bad. It looks like a mall, a service apartment, and a hotel all at the same time. The surrounding of the hotel is dirty. The corridors are neglected. All the rooms doors have never been wiped fully, you can see dust all over. The elevator is about to surrender. The breakfast is bad. What kind of hospitality business is this, the basics are not there. The room was clean at least, and comfortable.
