Citi Hotel Aberdeen City Centre

I stayed here for one night and had a very positive experience. The receptionist was exceptionally nice and helpful. The hotel's location in the city center of Aberdeen is very convenient and it's just a short walk away from the train and bus stations. You won't get any better deal for the price in Aberdeen.

I spent quite a while deciding what rating to give. I generally don’t like giving 3 stars, but 4 stars would be too generous for the room and service we received. However, considering the price we paid, it was reasonable overall. The most important thing to keep in mind is that this is a budget hotel, so if you come with the right expectations, you’ll be fine. Positives: • Great location. • The mattress and pillows were surprisingly comfortable. • There was always hot water with excellent pressure. • A kettle with tea, coffee, and two cups was provided. • The bedding was clean. • Funny enough, one of the hotel’s listed “activities” was birdwatching — and that was actually true! Lots of seagulls (which do scream all night) and pigeons, but I personally enjoyed watching them. • It was the cheapest option in the area at the time. • Neighbours were quiet during our stay. Negatives: • WiFi didn’t work at all for all 4 days. • The room was hot, and although a fan was supposed to be provided, there wasn’t one. No air conditioning either (but on site wasnt mentioned that it exist there , just something to note). • There were no utensils — not even a spoon to stir sugar. • All the provided bottles (shampoo, shower gel, hand soap) were empty upon arrival. When we mentioned it, the staff responded quickly, but only added a small amount of hand soap and several tiny shampoo tubes — no shower gel. • Only one towel was provided at check-in. After we asked, they gave us more, but one was stained with makeup. • No fridge in the room (which was clearly stated online, just good to know). • No hairdryer either (again, not listed as available, just for awareness). • The toilet was almost touching the bathtub — very tight space, at least in our room. • The room itself was small. • The elevator was out of service, though that wasn’t a problem for us, as we had light luggage. But something to ask about if you need it. Overall, our stay was fine — we only used the hotel for sleeping, and although there were several small issues, the price reflected the experience. If you’re looking for an affordable option and know what to expect, this place can work

Do not stay here!! Only stayed here 5 mins….the place was filthy and strong smell of cigarettes when entering. Checked in, used stairs as lift was out of order. Only 1 bed had a sheet on, which had a yellow stain on, quilts were on the floor with no covers on. Rubbish left from what I presume was from last guest. Cups were used and still had drinks in. Bits of tissue on the floor and bathroom bin tipped over. Went and told receptionist, who wasn’t helpful at all, and he said he’d just cleaned the room himself. He did offer us another room but after seeing the state of the place I declined and we walked out…no way was I letting my 74year old mother in a place like that. Spoke to Hotels.com who rang the hotel only for the hotel to tell them we had not even checked in!! Rang main number for hotel to be told they won’t offer a refund as we were offered a different room at the time. The website does not seem to reflect the true pictures of the hotel. Luckily we managed to book in to another hotel over the road at more expense to myself. The only good thing this hotel has going for itself is that it’s right in the city centre
