Amazing value hotel. Extremely comfy bed. Yes the room is small but not claustrophobic. (Note: I was randomly given an accessible room tho I don’t require one. Based on other’s’ photos my room was larger than their standard since it is designed for accessibility!) Yes the ipad control is a little annoying but being able to control the temp so easily was great. Staff were incredibly attentive & kind, especially the women who work the evenings who went above and beyond when I needed some help. As a solo traveler, I loved that the front door is only accessible w a room key after 10pm and there are always staff around. Tons of bus options right nearby, tube at Liverpool st. If you’re a tourist who likes to walk, you could easily walk to the City, the Tower, London Bridge. Restaurants, coffee shops, tesco all within a block. Well situated for access to central and east London.
I stay in this hotel regularly for work. The rooms and location are great. But on my last visit, I found the staff to be overly familiar and rather inappropriate with their humour. When asking questions, I was quite often met with some witty and unnecessary remark rather than just explaining politely. It actually really annoyed me and in future I will Be keeping my interaction with citizen and staff to a minimum (If staying at the hotel at all).
Very disappointing experience. On my first night after a long international flight, my room flooded right after my shower. I had to pack everything up late at night, with wet belongings, and navigate a slippery floor in the dark because the lights were turned off during the move. My team spent over $10,000 booking this hotel for a business trip, yet when I raised the issue, management only offered free breakfast. Despite multiple polite follow-ups and two emails, I never received a proper resolution or even a response. Poor service and I would not recommend.
