Clarion Hotel Sundsvall

Had a fab dinner at the restaurant on floor 4.5. The atmosphere is very relaxed, but sophisticated at the same time. The food was fabulous the veal to start was perfect, and the beef cheeks were the best I’ve ever had. Pared with the wine, tasted perfect. Best beef cheeks I’ve had.

Very spacious room and amazing breakfast. The swimming pool wasn’t included in the room price and had to be booked and paid for separately. Moreover, children could not use the pool at any time of day, but only during designated hours for families. This information was not easily discoverable when making the booking.

Rooms are nice, breakfast is good. But the service feels cheap. I stayed there because I had a keynote at a conference that took place in the same hotel the next day. I asked to delay my check-out by 45 minutes because I wanted to be able to have the option of preparing for my session in my room. This is a service that hotels usually provide for free. However, Clarion wanted to charge me for this. I felt it was cheap, and I politely declined their offer. It was a bad first experience and it doesn't cost them anything, they just need to clean my room at the end of the worklist. It's a service that nice hotels usually provide for free if it's possible (if they're not overbooked etc.)
