I picked this place as the reviews were positive. Didn’t disappoint. I got the modern room which I accidentally booked a smoking room. As they didn’t have any non smoking available they went and deodorised the room for me before I arrived. It didn’t smell at all of smoke which was fantastic. Overall I stayed at 9 hotels on my trip and this was my final and most expensive. Compared to other hotels with tiny bathrooms, this bathroom was huge and amazing amenities. I wouldn’t call the room modern rather retro. I especially liked the wooden furniture and as expected for the design and age of the furniture it was shabby chic and scuffed. Staff spoke English very well and were super helpful. I had no issues at all with the place and enjoyed my 3 nights stay there. I didn’t mind that it was a 12min walk from the closest station as I’m used to walking everywhere and it was bearable even in the heat. I will definitely come back.

Room was furnished as advertised, clean, quiet, the rooftop has a decent view and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The one issue was spotty and poor wifi, which seemed peculiar given how many networks they have. It's a bit out of the way from train lines, but easy to access via bus.

Nice hotel with interestingly designed rooms. For a 4 star residence at the price being charged there was a fair bit missing.....little details like a hair dryer that didn't work, sometimes a language barrier with reception staff, noisy air con, noisy automated toilet in room and could hear next door's toilet as well. Hall outside room is a bit dingy. Duvet too heavy. No slippers provided despite expectation to leave shoes at doorway. We stayed in a traditional Japanese inn in Kamazawa after for a fifth of the price and got a far superior service and room.
