Classic Hotel Am Stetteneck

Lovely rooms. We had one with an amazing balcony, but the ones without are also nice. Breakfast was great and the rings come with local bus and tram access. It's cloudy to lifts, in a super part of town for shopping, eating, and fun. There is no ac, the heat is good, the showers are good, the spa is really quite good, albeit small, the beds are hard, the pillows are only a step above bad, but since we visited during early spring, we did not need ac, and even if it was hot it stuffy, an open balcony door solved all, and jet lag helped with bad bed comfort. Overall, excellent in spring when no ac is needed.

Front desk staff were indifferent and not hospitable. They were unhelpful in any regard with helping in bringing our luggage up the stairs. Requesting a parking spot required asking multiple questions on where and how to get to parking. The junior suite room is advertised as large enough to accommodate three people. The third person has to be someone younger than 12 years of age - not for an adult. The second "bedroom" is the size of a walk-in closet with a couch. All they did was remove the couch pillows and added a small mattress on top. It was not wide, nor long enough for an adult. When I raised my disappointment with the front desk and hotel manager, they simply stated that is the way the room is. Our room faced the pedestrian only road, however, since the hotel does not have air conditioning, the rooms were sweltering, but we could not keep the windows open due to the noise from the cafes and bars until 1:00 in the morning and then at 6:00 a.m. the supply trucks start driving by. Overall the place looks very nice, but it was a disappointment for me.

We are in the middle of a stay now. It’s summer and therefore a bit warm. Which is fine. Hotel does not have any AC. Which is also fine. Sleeping with the windows open should be lovely. But the hotel is directly across from several bars which have loud music (it’s currently 11:15 pm, with no signs of slowing down). And the trash collection starts at 5:00 am outside the same windows. Lovely breeze. Terrible sleeping conditions. Not much the hotel can do. We are leaving tomorrow.
