Classic Terrace Santo Spirito

I almost cancel my booking due to the reviews, I panicked… so I arrived to the hotel truly biased… the hotel is in pretty good shape, my room was in the “basement” it’s more like half street level… really clean, better than some other higher stars hotels in Europe I’ve been, for Europe it was big enough, as I arrived totally frightened I asked at front desk if they could upgrade me to have a larger room… Noel was kind enough to agree but showed me the original booked room first and that was plenty, it’s bright and enough for me and my son…the bathroom is indeed small, but not smaller than most hotels in Europe… remember this is a two star hotel… I requested my agency something right in the heart of Florence and since I knew I would buy lots of things in Italy I requested a good enough hotel but not an expensive one and they delivered… it’s walking from the train station (literally 5 min) and you can walk to every interesting place in Firenze from here.

Excellent location close to train station and sites. No elevator was tough to get bags up narrow and steep stairs. Very noisy outside with bars near hotel. Air conditioning is set by the hotel to 23 Celsius which is 75 F. With the temp in high 80s outside it was very hot alll night. We had a terrible night of sleep. Tiny shower, could barely move inside, similar to an RV shower and bathroom. Breakfast was just ok. Coffee was spectacular though. Solid experience but wouldn’t stay here again.

We stayed three nights at this hotel in July. 2025. This hotel is not well managed. The facilities are very old. The shower glass door was fallen apart when we slide the door open. The broken glass scratched my wife’s hand and feet. This is not a safe hotel to stay within. The breakfast is disgusting too. The staff was very rude when we asked compensation for the harm and loss of usage the incident caused. The hotel closes to major attractions and train station.
