Clayton Hotel Belfast City

Hotel was really good from start to finish. We arrived early and were allowed to leave our bags prior to checking in. The room was nice and tidy and very comfortable. The air conditioning could not be set to below 21 degrees, which was too hot. However, we asked at reception and were supplied with a fan which made things much better. Our only complaint is that the housekeeing staff were a bit hit-and-miss. There were a couple of times we returned to our room and needed to request towels as they had not been left however they were quick to rectify this.

The room was just average, but it was what we expected. Hotels are seriously overpriced these days. We paid for room only so I cannot comment on the restaurant but we got room service one of the nights and the food was FAB. The guy at the reception was extremely helpful and had a lovely manner. The shower pressure was awful, I have long hair and simply could not wash my hair for the duration. The Water and snacks in the room for Tea & Coffee were not replenished over the 4 days which I was surprised at.

Great location and lobby area. With the cost of a deluxe room for the time we stayed being ~€130 odd per night, I would expect the bathroom for the Deluxe Double room to be in a better state. The shower panel is in desperate need of repair as is the panel above the toilet, the shower curtain was dirty and ripped at the hooks, towel stained with various other elements such as the door and bath panel scuffed and could do with a touch up or even replacing. I'd expect a better standard for a 4 star rated hotel and for the cost I am paying for a service. Bad form.
