My stay was fantastic. I almost felt like I'd stepped back in time to an era where customer service actually mattered to people again. The team couldn't have been more helpful, the room was clean, comfy and spacious, and the breakfast (the highlight for me) was fantastic! Would highly recommend.

Stayed here last year over the Late May Bank Holiday in a King room. The room was very comfortable and the surrounding area was surprisingly quiet. The building is modern (we had the best bathroom we've had so far in our many trips to London.) The hotel is walking distance to Liverpool St Station, Spitalfields Market, Tower of London, Horizon 22, Guildhall, The Barbican, and more. I loved the mix of old and new architecture in the area and exploring all the narrow passageways of yesteryear. We had coffee each morning at nearby Black Sheep.

The hotel was very good overall. The room was large, clean, and included all the facilities expected of a five-star hotel. The staff were friendly and professional. In particular, the lady in the bar—I believe her name was Ellen—was extremely friendly and helpful. I also appreciated finding a welcome letter in the room along with vouchers for two complimentary drinks. Everything else about my stay was excellent. However, there was one major issue that significantly affected my experience: the room was extremely hot because the air conditioning was not working properly. I complained about this twice. While staff did respond and attempted to fix it, nothing improved. As a result, I wasn’t able to sleep comfortably during those very hot summer days. I was told that they couldn’t transfer me to another room because all rooms of the same level were fully occupied. In my view, they should have offered an upgrade in this situation, since the problem was beyond my control. Instead, the only solution offered was to bring a fan to the room. Apart from this issue, everything else was great. But unfortunately, this problem prevented me from rating the hotel as five stars.
