Clayton Hotel Manchester Airport

A fabulous surprise. Friendly and efficient check in. The room was nicely laid out for the 3 of us although only 2 sets of bath towels were waiting for us. A third set was brought on request. Feather free room was provided on request although more pillows would have been appreciated. The restaurant was magnificent. Fabulous choices for our son who eats gluten free including french fries! Great sleep on comfortable bed. In the morning, excellent shuttle service to Terminal 3. We have previously stayed at the Radisson but the Clayton will now be our preferred place to stay.

We had a great stay pre-holiday. Our family room was perfect for the 4 of us. We ate dinner and enjoyed a few drinks in the hotel bar. Food was good and the service was excellent. One guy in particular (whose name I unfortunately didn’t catch) was particularly friendly and attentive. We will definitely stay here again in flying from Manchester.

The check in process was nice. Checked in online, arrived around lunch time, kept luggage in lobby and went to the city and didn't arrive back at hotel til around 9 pm. Keys were waiting for us 😊 The beds were comfortable and clean and seemed to be new mattresses, but that's the only positive thing about the room. The air conditioning did not work, which was very disappointing because I had sent an email beforehand to make sure the room had air conditioning. l kept getting error code. I had a staff member try to fix it when he brought us extra towels (there were only 2 bath towels for a 4 person booking). He mentioned we could call lobby and ask for maintenance but it was late and we were trying to go to bed. Luckily there was a fan we could use and open windows, but it was loud outside. At least 2 of the lamps need a new light bulb. The bathroom was disgusting. The shower grout is moldy. And around the sink faucet there was a pool of wet black mold that could easily be cleaned. And the shower curtain was dirty. Breakfast was delicious and the staff was very friendly, but weren't told about pancakes and waffles til almost done eating. Our kids were a bit disappointed with that. The shuttle service was perfect!
