A bit of the beaten track, but a great bus service just minutes from the hotel. We stayed for three nights end of June into July, nothing too much trouble for the very friendly, helpful staff. Hotel itself was clean and well presented. A little dark in places, especially the bedroom corridors, which could do with brightening up, some areas were a little tired looking. Our bedroom was comfortable and had all we needed. Overall a nice hotel.
Stayed here for two nights and overall was a pleasant stay bar a few things. The room and bathroom were nice and clean except for a few hairs in the bath. Staff were lovely and very helpful when needed. The food that we had for dinner was lovely, but the breakfast was a huge letdown. We originally had breakfast booked for both mornings but did not go the second morning because it was such a letdown. They had a great selection of food, but the problems were the fact that the eggs were very watery, the fried mushrooms were not fried, the plates had dried old food on them, the bread was stale and the mixed fruit had a taste of vinegar. Overall the dining areas were quite outdated. Not very convenient for the city centre unless you have a car To it. Overall I would not stay here again.
We stayed in this hotel 2 years ago on trip to Cork and really enjoyed our time there. This time it ranks as one of the worst hotels I have the unfortunate experience of staying in. We as a family stayed in room 213. The rooms average temperature throughout the day was around 27 degrees even at night so you woke sweating. We were given a fan as the air conditioning unit stunk of mould as was useless. The fan did nothing apart from shift hot air around. The first night we stayed for dinner to try and make the most of it. The waiting staff were walking around like they didn't know what was expected of them. The only time there was bit of order was when the duty manager came in and took charge. We were there 3 hours and had to cancel our desserts as the kids were getting restless and it was 8.30pm and no one was in the mood at that point! They did give a free dessert voucher and we were told there was a slight delay! Which was then changed to a major delay! Breakfast was the best part of the stay and the gentleman server was charming. Onto our thankfully last day. There were people painting the walls of which I paid no notice while I was loading the car and roof box. As you can see from the picture attached there was no sign or staff never contacted guests to move their cars when they were painting as my rear window and back of my car are covered in paint splatters. I emailed the hotel twice asking who is going to pay for the damage and I have had no response not even an acknowledgement so I am off to the press to highlight the sheer incompetence of management and staff and this hotel. Would I recommend the silver springs hotel. Never!
