Cleeve Hill Hotel

This place is an absolute gem. Super comfy beds, gorgeous rooms, and every little detail is just spot on. The breakfast is next level – fresh, local, and seriously tasty. It feels fancy but still really warm and welcoming. Honestly, one of the best stays I’ve ever had.

I would never describe this place as a hotel. It is a cleanish hostel at best. We felt like we had been banished to our strict, unkind aunts house for the night. There are so many “rules” you will feel like you’re in primary school again. From the moment you arrive you’re ordered to the back of the house and told you can’t wear shoes inside. The host follows you around watching what you’re doing and then curtly and snippy tells you off for breaking a rule ie: no eating anything in the room that you paid for (again not a hotel), only sitting where she allows etc. I’ve traveled the world and have never experienced anything like it. Our room was clean but very little privacy and had smells of mold unfortunately. We didn’t choose this hostel, it was chosen for us by our travel company who will also be hearing from us on what a giant fail it was. Would never recommend.

Wow, where do I begin… The rooms are nice, let’s start with that. It’s clean. The host Lindsey… woof. From the moment we stepped foot into the hotel, sorry, the moment we were ordered to the back entrance, the hotel owner and operator hated us. There’s a great review on here that describes her as being “curt” “abrupt” and “unfriendly”, that review is absolutely spot on. I highly recommend you stay far away from this place.
