Cliff House Hotel

We held my daughters wedding celebration here on Saturday and many of the guests stayed over the weekend. It was a perfect weekend. All the staff were amazing and worked so hard, were courteous and nothing was too much trouble. They ensured the venue looked stunning, the bar staff kept the drinks coming under quite a lot of pressure, and the buffet food was good quality and piping hot. Overnight guests were very happy and impressed with the venue. I'd like to thank all the staff for their hard work and effort (and the person that cooked chips for the bride at 2.00am👍😂) They were all very friendly and efficient. A fabulous event venue.

Stopped here for a bit of lunch and was delighted with the food we were served. Sat in the quiet garden area in the sun was great, and we even had our dog with us. The garlic and coriander humus was so tasty and it came with flatbread. My wife had calamari and I had the lobster and crayfish salad. I left with flavours dancing around my mouth. Will be going again.

Visited yesterday for Mother’s Day lunch - the food was superb from starter to main course all excellent, I hope our comments on the day were passed to the Chefs. We had a young waiter serve us he was very polite and doing a great job whilst under pressure on a busy service, I hope he gets the mentoring he needs as this seemed to be lacking and it would be a shame to loose him. Points of reference - the senior restaurant manager asked us to retain and remove our dirty cutlery from our starters plates after he picked the plates up from our table, this was a shame as it let down the initial experience and personally do not think fish starter cutlery should then be used to eat a roast dinner, also no crackling on the roast pork plate, plus being charged extra for stuffing with a traditional roast turkey meal is odd and for the sake of the price of stuffing not necessary. Also maybe some background music would be nice. These small points are easily rectified but are the difference between 4 and 5 stars.
