Recently celebrated a friend's birthday at the Resort. We were not disappointed. Situated in a beautiful location on scenic Lookout Mountain, the views and ambiance were spectacular. We were greeted by name by each team member we interacted with. Modern well decorated suite with a fabulous bathroom made the stay super enjoyable. Cocktail hour, dinner at the Creag and breakfast by the pool were all superb. First class all the way. Can't wait to return.
I agree that I wouldn’t categorize this as resort due to the basic amenities offered. I’ll add extra info that I feel wasn’t highlighted in recent reviews, or on their website. Mandatory valet parking 43/ a night, their spa is short hours from 9-5 (basically an hour after you check in and you can only make an appointment if you call them) and you are very far from civilization so come prepared for anything. The stay was comfortable enough, they do have a very nice fitness center and infinity pool with a great Mountain View. But calling it a resort is still a stretch. They tackle on the mandatory 45 resort fee for library access and access to golf practice facilities. My room was “resort view” with a balcony which is a wildly underwhelming description of our view. I’ve attached a picture of it underneath because I don’t believe they are being transparent. Just call it a room with a balcony, flowery language for an unkempt yard is kind of insane. Breakfast was included with our stay and although it was pretty decent, they didn’t offer any alternative meat for people who don’t eat pork. Had to track our server down way too many times. Please make it completely buffet with drinks available so we don’t have to rely on short waitstaff. With that being said, every single staff member was nice. A bit young but nice.
First of all-nice rooms and absolutely beautiful views. Overall disappointed. Valet seemed a bit disorganized. No clear signage when checking in. Was dropped off at clubhouse just to learn it was closed for a private event that day! Most frustrating was getting there and not able to get a reservation anywhere to eat. Some type of golf tournament going on. Not cool but workable. Went to the pool and not even a single chair at 10:30am. Decided to checkout early. I would have appreciated a heads up-this place is in the middle of no where!! If you can’t support the occupancy, tell people!!
