We recently stayed at Club Hotel Baja Sardinia and would highly recommend it. Our rooms were clean and comfortable, and the bathroom appeared to have been recently renovated, which was a nice touch. The price was also very reasonable for the quality offered. The location is absolutely stunning—nestled between a private beach at the back and a public beach at the front, each offering its own unique and beautiful views. We booked a bed and breakfast (BB) option, and the food exceeded expectations. There was a great selection of fresh hot and cold options each morning, and everything looked and tasted like it had just been prepared. Overall, we had a fantastic stay and would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area.
Last day update: The hotel restaurant added a lunch to our bill which we didn’t have. I find it hard to believe that it’s an honest mistake given that almost all hotel guests are Italian. How come they confused us with someone else when we speak English with them… We had to show evidence that we were on a boat tour on the very same day. The sandy beach shown in the pictures does not belong to the hotel. The hotel’s own beach is about a 5-minute walk away and can only be reached by climbing down between rocks. It’s rocky, slippery, and covered with seaweed. If you want to enjoy the nice sandy beach, be prepared to pay €40 for two sunbeds and an umbrella. When we first entered our room, there was a huge centipede inside because the sliding door has no insect screen. The hotel restaurant is fine in the evening, but it’s not included in the room rate. Breakfast, on the other hand, is included—but the service is terrible. It feels so cheap. I wish breakfast was extra but with proper service instead. Some of the staff are extremely rude, and the restaurant rules make no sense from a guest’s perspective. For example, there were three of us and we just wanted to have some still water. I took a 750 ml bottle from the buffet to our table to pour into our glasses, but we were told this was not allowed unless we paid for the bottle. Guests are only allowed to fill their glasses directly at the buffet. The way they told us this was unnecessarily rude. When you’re paying €500+ per night including breakfast, you don’t want to be hassled over a €2 bottle of water. The hotel itself feels a bit run down. The rooms are clean though. They only change the bed linen once every three days, claiming it’s for environmental reasons—yet in the evening, the café smells like sewage. I honestly suspect they’re discharging waste directly into the sea. All in all, poor value for money.
This is my third vocation this summer, and I've always stayed in either four- or five-star hotels. As someone who frequently travels and values quality, this is my honest experience. This hotel is the worst I've ever stayed at, anywhere in the world. I can't speak for other parts of this island, but this area certainly needs better management and rejuvenation. The rooms are very outdated, the bed is uncomfortable, and the blackout curtains are ineffective. Despite my best efforts to close them properly, sunlight still penetrated from the sides, waking me up early each morning from a deep sleep. The room felt like a sauna the entire night because the air conditioning wasn’t working efficiently. Upon our complaint, we were given a portable air cooler, but it was too noisy, and no maintenance was provided during our 7-day stay. There’s no swimming pool, the bar is very small and overpriced. Parking is very limited in the area, and if the hotel’s parking is full, the staff offers no assistance other than telling you to drive around. I even received a €30 parking ticket for parking in a spot where many others were also parked. There’s little to no music anywhere in the hotel or nearby restaurants and bars. They’re overcharging for what they claim are character and scenic views, which would be fine if it were deserved. The breakfast is very basic with limited variety. Check-out time is 10 a.m., whereas most hotels offer a midday check-out. The taxi service is also very limited and unreliable. All the popular beaches are far from this location, with no convenient transportation options if you don't want to drive. The beaches we were recommended were difficult to access and had limited parking spaces. The staff were friendly and courteous, which is at least something positive to mention. This is the first time I’ve been so happy to return home, and I won’t miss this holiday at all. Good luck Club Hotel Baja and its location around!
