We had our business strategy launch here a few days ago. The staff were very pleasant and accommodating. The conference room we used was spectacular! The stage the lights, and a stunning view from the top. All the food we had was marvellous from tea, snacks to lunch! Those roasted potatoes are definitely something to write home about!!

Generally a very pleasant experience. Rooms are clean but there are no windows that open to let some fresh air in which does tent to make the room feel stuffy. I am not a big fan of air conditioning while i sleep so that was a tiny tiny bit of an issue for me. The breakfast buffet had a very good selection / variety so you're bound to find something that you like. The staff are exceptionally friendly. From the front desk to the cleaners. Everyone make you feel like you are the most prized guest. So kudos to all staff! This hotel is definitely worth considering, and it is centrally located in Umhlanga.

I stayed in a **family room** at **Coastlands Hotel Umhlanga** (1 king bed and 2 single beds). The **room and bathroom were clean and comfortable**, but the **ventilation was poor**, making the space feel stuffy at times. **Communication with reception and housekeeping was frustrating** — the in-room phone was unreliable, and we had to call several times before anyone answered. One receptionist also seemed unaware of basic hotel information, which was disappointing. There’s a **daily R50 charge for parking**, which guests should be aware of. **Breakfast was just okay** — not terrible, but lacking in variety. Also, the **lifts were problematic**, often slow or not functioning properly. During our stay, there was some **renovation work happening**, and we were disturbed by **loud banging from above early in the morning**, which made the stay **less peaceful** than expected. On the bright side, the **location is convenient**, with a **KFC, spa, and bakery right below the hotel**. Overall, it was an **average experience** — the room itself was nice, but **service, amenities, and noise levels need improvement**.
