The Cocoon hotel in Salzburg and Munich are fantastic! I actually stayed at the Salzburg hotel which is a 3 minute walk from the Salzburg train station and bus depot and the hotel was great. The rooms were super clean, had a comfortable bed, luxurious shower, and the overall vibe of the hotel was awesome. All for a great price. Staff was super friendly and helped with any questions I had. They can store your bags there as well before you check in or after you check out. Free water to fill up you water bottle as well! Now I only stayed at the Salzburg hotel but I'm also eating the Munich Cocoon hotel because I was a dumb dumb and accidentally booked the hotel at Munich even though we were going to Salzburg. I didn't realize it until we checked into the hotel in Salzburg, but the staff was so understanding. She was able to get us a room at the correct hotel and contacted the Munich hotel to cancel that room and provide a full refund. Can't thank them enough for this service. If you need confirmation about being a great place to stay. This is it!
The hotel was excellent in every way. The breakfast, the friendly staff at the entrance. It was a truly wonderful experience. A clean and tidy hotel. The breakfast was delicious. Very close to everywhere in the city. A 1-2 minute walk to public transportation stops. It was a unique experience for my wife and me. Thank you very much to everyone.
During our 3-night stay, we discovered a dusty sock behind the sofa and chips in the shelves. In terms of sustainability, they only clean on request. We complained, and they offered us a clean room, but we declined. It’s a bit over the top to offer a new room just because of chips and a sock. They said they would clean it the next day. The next day, the sock and chips were still there. The manager tried to create a sense of “us versus the cleaners,” while he should have checked it himself. He argued, “I can’t possibly check all the rooms,” to which I replied, “I would hope you don’t get complaints about every room.” Instead of simply walking upstairs, picking up the sock, and wiping the shelves, he just left it as it was. This shows poor problem-solving skills. Throughout the stay, they kept using the sustainability argument, which at some point started to feel like greenwashing. In the end, we got a €50 refund on nearly €600, even though we spent our entire stay in a dirty room. On the day we left, when we really checked to make sure we had everything, we saw how filthy the room actually was—worse than we initially thought. It was really disgusting: skin flakes under the bed, grime in the shower. They’d be better off just cleaning the rooms properly for the sake of sustainability, rather than constantly having to deal with complaints
