Very quiet hotel, set in lovely gardens. Amazing location close to rail and city center, literally without any city noise. Highly recommended.
We liked the hotel a lot. The pool is very nice and the breakfast is great and the rooms are big and modern and clean, and we had great snacks offered to us in the room, with a little bottle of wine. So a great experience. However, when we arrived the first night, the man at the desk tried to overcharge us by 60 euros for our room and he wasn't friendly. I showed him the reservation I made and the rate. He still said he needed to charge us 60 extra euros. I told him that is not the rate I reserved. He told me to talk to the manager in the morning. When I talked to the manager in the morning, she corrected the mistake, but didn't explain why there was an error and didn't apologize for the desk's behavior the night before. It was very strange.
Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this hotel at the prices it advertises and there are much better options nearby. It is also sadly not near the "four stars" it advertises and is closer to a retirement home with some spare rooms it rents out as hotel rooms. **Especially do not book during the warm parts of the year**. 1) The rooms need some updating. The room I got was relatively clean, but it was clearly a bit worn. The TV was quite old and the washroom was in need of some TLC. I will say that my room was relatively quiet. 2) The rooms are extremely warm and they not only don't have air conditioning, they also don't have fans in each room. This is simply unacceptable for an establishment that claims to be four stars. Visitors have to call the reception to try and find you a fan on hot nights and there is no guarantee there will be one available. Hotel management needs to plan to have enough fans for each room, especially during warm days. I had to call several times to finally get a fan, but in the meantime had one of the most uncomfortable stays in a hotel room that I've ever had. I raised the above point to the hotel front desk and they said they were aware of the issue. There was no management on site. 3) The hotel service is slow. It took about 30-35 minutes for me to receive an iron and ironing board in the early morning before heading out for some work. I also found one individual working the night shift to be quite rude to another customer, I was a bit shocked by the exchange. 4) I booked the room in May and it was advertised the pool would reopen on June 1st. When I checked in mid-June, I was advised the pool was still closed. I'd not received any communication indicating the opening of the pool had been delayed. Had I known, I'd have booked elsewhere. 5) The location was probably the most positive thing about this "hotel". It's relatively convenient, and you can walk to the city centre relatively easily. All in all, go elsewhere if you can.
