We held our daughter’s wedding and reception at Collingrove Homestead in March 2014, and stayed there during the couple of days of preparations leading up to it. The accommodation was excellent, particularly considering the constraints imposed by virtue of this being a National Trust property. If ours was anything to judge by, they have the most comfortable beds going. Marcia and Andrew were welcoming, gracious, generous and flexible hosts. They coped with the demands of wedding preparations and a full house with calm and unflappable good humour. Nothing was ever too much trouble for either of them. They both have a lovely manner, are professional and have a sensitivity to the needs of their guests. Marcia’s breakfasts were stylish and generous and her management of the wedding preparations was masterful, even down to coping smoothly with the inevitable last minute demands and changes wedding preparations seem to involve. To cap it off, the reception catering, which Marcia organises in conjunction with Stuart Oldfield of Handmade Catering, was outstanding. Both the venue and the catering have been a source of repeated compliments from wedding guests, on the night and since. Add all of this to one of the quietest and most tranquil settings, just out of Angaston and close to all the Barossa and Eden Valleys have to offer . . . It doesn’t get a lot better than this! We plan to go back soon, just the two of us, just to enjoy the stay.

This place is amazing and beautiful. A hidden gem! It has so much character and a great history behind it. They have kept this place in true form. I stayed in the coachman's quarters and it was clean, quiet and warm. The staff are friendly and the food is yum. I would definitely come back.

We stayed in the Coachman's Quarters, which are part of a late-1800s homestead with a history intimately connected with the story of the development of South Australia. Our host was friendly and helpful, and the freshly cooked hot breakfast on the verandah was a nice touch.
