Colomba D'Oro

We loved this hotel in Tropea. Very close to center of town so no need to drive. But far enough to be away from noise. Domenico at the front desk was super helpful and nice! Rooms were clean and beautiful. Loved the decor in main lobby!

Excellent hotel with friendly staff and clean rooms. Deluxe room was the biggest I've seen in Europe with a decent size shower and bathroom as well. The location is central to the square and not far from the beach or marina either. Price is very reasonable considering the amenities and service provided. Breakfast is decent for Italy, but might seem lacking to Americans and English.

Not a great hotel but also not terrible: It feels too much like a big chain and there is a severe lack of personal touch. The cleaner came at exactly 10:30 while we were getting ready to get out. We asked if she could come in 5 minutes instead. This was not possible whatsoever. Furthermore, the breakfast room is too small for the size of the hotel and feels very crammed and doesn't have a relaxed atmosphere which is nice during a holiday. I don't think this hotel is at the level one could expect from a 4 star hotel, except from the rooms and location, those are quite OK.
