Colonna Grand Hotel Capo Testa A Colonna Luxury Beach Hotel Santa Teresa Sardegna

We stayed at this hotel for a week in June and overall had a pleasant experience. The staff were exceptionally kind and helpful, and the location is certainly one of the highlights. However, there are a few aspects that we feel could be improved, especially considering the hotel presents itself as a five-star establishment: -The property would benefit from some renovation. The breakfast area, located on the lower ground floor, feels quite enclosed and lacks natural light, which can make the atmosphere feel a bit gloomy. -Charging for Nespresso capsules(!!!) in the room was unexpected and felt out of place for a five-star hotel. This detail was not clearly communicated beforehand and only discovered at checkout, which was disappointing. -Complimentary bottled water was only provided upon arrival. We believe a bottle per guest should be included daily, as is standard in many luxury hotels. -The gym area was not air-conditioned, despite outside temperatures exceeding 30°C. This made it quite uncomfortable to use and could be improved for guest comfort. -While the location is excellent, we were surprised that there was no open-air dining option with a pleasant view. Dinner was served in the same area as breakfast, which lacked ambiance and did not match the expectations for a five-star dining experience. We hope these comments are taken as constructive feedback, as the hotel has great potential and we truly appreciated the hospitality of the staff.

Wonderful location. The sea is amazing, very clean. Private Sunbeds and umbrella only for hotel clients reserved. The only thing that can be criticised are the rooms, and specially the toilet it's a bit small. Highlight is the food. I've booked a half board and the dinner menu it's amazing. Very fresh and precious Ingredients. It's like eating dinner every night at a Michelin star restaurant. The staff is very polite and friendly. Overall experience over the top.

I don’t think the negative reviews I read before we went are warranted. The hotel location is amazing and everything is very clean. We didn’t use the spa or gym but they looked fine. The pools are great and the private beach area is beautiful. We had breakfast every day in the hotel, which was a large buffet style plus eggs cooked on request. Staff are welcoming. We ate out at local restaurants every night bar one. There are restaurants within 20 mins walk. The one night we ate in the hotel we were disappointed. The service was slower, you have to sit inside and I didn’t rate the food quality compared to local restaurants. The pool bar is good and drinks come with nibbles. You can have your drinks brought to your loungers. The shuttle bus to SMG is very handy (having paid €35 for a one way taxi for the same journey). First one leaves at 10am and last one back is 7pm (with others between). Overall we’d definitely go back.
