We stumbled upon SCP Hotel after a frustrating start to our trip. We had originally booked another hotel in town, but upon arrival, it was filthy and located in an area that felt completely unsafe—with people loitering in the parking lot. We canceled immediately and began a desperate search for a clean, safe, and reasonably priced place to stay for one night. After calling around and finding that most hotels either couldn’t accommodate our family of five or were charging over $500 a night (often with poor reviews and sketchy surroundings), we were exhausted and discouraged—until we found SCP. They offered us a great price on two adjoining rooms that gave us a lot of space. The kids were blown away that they had thier own room. From the outside, the hotel has a modest, almost motel-like appearance. But once we stepped into the Commons, we were blown away. The space is modern, warm, and welcoming with a unique industrial-rustic aesthetic. It had something for everyone: 🎨 A rock painting station (the kids loved seeing their creations displayed later on the fountain outside) 🍸 A free welcome drink for each adult at the bar 🎬 A movie projector 🎱 Pool table 🧘‍♂️ Meditation room 🏋️‍♂️ A huge gym 🏊‍♀️ A large outdoor pool 🕹️ Cornhole and other games The connected rooms were comfortable and clean, perfect for our family. While the complimentary breakfast was simple, the coffee and muffins hit the spot. Everyone on staff was friendly and accommodating, making the entire experience feel relaxed and enjoyable. If I had to point out anything, I’d say the property could use a bit of fresh paint in spots—but it’s clearly a hotel that’s evolving and improving, and I have no doubt it’ll only get better. We absolutely recommend SCP—not just because it saved our trip, but because it’s the kind of place every city should have: affordable, family-friendly, and full of soul. We wish we had more time to stay and enjoy everything it had to offer.

I stayed at SCP for one night. While the outside left something to be desired in terms of esthetics, it was beautiful inside. The lobby is nicely done with games and pool table. The bar is beautiful with a nice selection of cocktails. The room was clearly remodeled, clean, and very comfortable. I did find it strange there was no garbage can in the room. The staff were super friendly. I get the sense from the surroundings, trash, and homeless encampment that this hotel may not be located in the best part of town. It was perfect for my one night stay. I can't say I would choose this hotel for a longer stay simply because of the location.

Here's the deal. The beds were comfortable and Adam at the front desk was lovely, but the rooms were dingy and smelled of mold and smoke. They look like the pictures, but the cleaning detail is not good. We also stayed in the outdoor rooms and you could hear everything going on outside, due to poor door and window sound proofing. Basically, it's an old hotel that they updated a few years ago, but haven't kept up.
