The staff is what made this hotel a wonderful stay. Everyone was kind and hospitable. The hotel is outdated but when you look at the details of the building you know it was so beautiful for the period of time it was built. Its not run down, or dirty, they've taken good care of everything and everything is clean. You will be disappointed if fancy new hotels is what you're looking for but if clean, friendly and near attractions is all you need you'll appreciate this place. I especially loved the free parking in a lot next to the building and the free omlet I had outside on their nice terrace. I stayed here in February, the room was a fine temperature. I can't attest to summertime complains I read. However the window DID open.
The staff were very kind and did their absolute best to ensure our stay was comfortable and relaxing. The room was very clean, spacious and had an impressive view onto the mount of olives. The breakfast was also fantastic with an array of fresh foods and drinks that were all delicious. The dining area backs onto an outdoor terrace where we could enjoy our breakfast each morning. We highly recommend this hotel and look forward to visiting again soon.
I stayed here for 15 days with my sons. Overall its an amazing experience. Location wise, ups and downs of hills to go to Aqsa is a 20min walk. Can be challenging for the elderly. But one can take the bus 275 to Aqsa mosque. The hotel is alright for us. 3 star type of Accomodation, small, quaint, homely. But the main star is the people. The smiles, the friendliness, the warmth, the initiatives from the Chef to the reception to the housekeeping staff. I like that it's clean. It's a no frills hotel. No daily mineral water bottles but there is a hot and cold dispenser in lobby to top up all our 3, 1.5l bottles. So kudos for the recycle initiative. No need to waste plastic bottles. Soap in dispensers in toilet is always topped up. Towels n bed sheets can be replaced daily. Although, there were issues here and there like lift sometimes not working, our heater got issues (thus they lent us their mini portable heater) , Internet especially during midday or when it's crowded with group tours, may not be working or may be slow... no biggie for us cos we got mobile data. We are adaptable n flexible. Our breakfast (became sahoor for Ramadan starts 3.30am) are sufficient with the local coffee brew, green tea (Ahmed brand), mint leaves, sometimes lemon, cereals - chocolate, fuity loops/trix, normal corn flakes. Yogurt, hummus, cheese, cucumber, tomatoes, homemade jams, sometimes babaghanoush/galayet bandoura, olives, boiled eggs, toasted breads (wholemeal n white) n more. We love the daily chef-made omelette - cheese, tomatoes. Overall with the good price rate (400+shekels daily) , good location to Muslim area, good hike up to mount olives n various landmarks like Chapel ascension, Salman Farisi mausoleum, Rabiayul adawiyah etc... supermarkets, butcher shops n bakeries.... I'm thankful to be here. Thank you for your heart warming services. Thank you for making us feel at home. May all of you be blessed with soaring success, abundance n more.
