I recently visited the hotel using a gift card that included dinner, an overnight stay, spa access, and breakfast. Check-in was a bit frustrating. Instead of a smooth welcome, we were handed an iPad to fill in our personal details. This process felt cold and disconnected, especially when you lose the interaction with the receptionist. It would be much more guest-friendly to collect those details before arrival and simply ask for an identification and signature upon check-in. Dinner was a confusing experience. After sitting down, food was brought to us within five minutes. We hadn’t even ordered yet! It turned out that the gift card only covered a set menu for the day, which wasn’t communicated beforehand. When we asked about the main course, the waitress told us it was fish. My partner doesn't eat seafood, so we let her know, and she kindly offered chicken instead. Unfortunately, they still brought out fish for both of us. We reminded them, and they corrected it, but by that point, my food had already been served and had to be taken back so we could eat together. It would have been really helpful to know the set menu in advance—for both clarity and dietary needs. On a more positive note, the spa was lovely and relaxing, and the building itself is beautiful. Learning the story behind the property before it became a hotel was fascinating—it adds a lot of charm and character to the stay. The room was comfortable, and breakfast the next morning was pleasant.

My husband and I stayed at the Comwell for three nights. We did not have the spa package and didn't realize there is absolutely nothing to do on the hotel grounds save for walking the area. Sure, the area is picturesque and is a beautiful walk but that's it. No pool or other amenities in the room unless you had the spa packages.. Upon check in the hotel staff was very unhelpful and rather snarly. I asked for water to have in the room but was told to drink from the bathroom sink (in plastic cups). We took a walk around the hotel and found our way to the spa side. We were shocked to see how much nicer that area was compared to where our side was. The spa side was beautiful, quiet, with robes and slippers for the guests. Seemingly a different hotel completely. Our room had no amenities in the room other than body wash. That said, the rooms are large and the AC was fabulous. So the lesson here is if you want to stay in a very pretty hotel but don't have money to spend on spa packages, move alone.

Went in March for a work meeting. Stayed the night where the spa access was included. The room is okay , bathroom minimal like the room. My view was the parking lot and the road. Tv was fine but in 2025 I’d wish to connect my phone to the tv in a 3/4 star hotel. They need to change their toilet seats. The one in my rooms bathroom was pretty used. At the dinner , the waiters were very busy and in a hurry , even tho I had mentioned twice I do not eat pork I was served pork. My fellow colleagues then stopped one waiter and lifted the plate saying she doesn’t eat it. Later he came with a plate of chicken and it was almost as if he threw it in front of me. I felt a bit embarrassed , I wasn’t sitting there in charity. So my dinner experience was not good. No one asked if we wanted to drink something else other than alcohol. Spa was good , the outdoor hot tub felt great on the chilly night. Breakfast buffet was good completely enjoyed it. On the phone they said check out time is 11 but later at breakfast upon asking I was told it’s 10:30. I was checking out and the receptionist said I had to pay for my spa access. I got confused because on check in I was told it was included with my room. Fine I went to get my wallet from my car. When I came back I asked again if maybe it’s a mistake that I have to pay ? She asked me to wait and asked another colleague. She looked at her screen asked me if I was staying alone ( which I was ) and then said yeah your spa access is included in room. I just thought what if I hadn’t inquired the second time and had payed for it ? The night staff was very helpful. The guy at the reception at night was so accommodating and helpful. He gave me a small toothbrush kit as I forgot my toothpaste. Also good space available for charging your electric car.
