Conchiglia Azzurra Resort & Beach

A month ago we had a family reunion in this facility renting two standard double rooms at the Conchiglia Azzurra Resort with included breakfast and dinner at the Conchiglia Azzurra restaurant. We also used the beach facilities, lido Conchiglia Azzurra, and the parking. We enjoyed a lot the beach and the restaurant, and the parking was just convenient. We were glad about the food and the kindness of the waiters that really made our stay pleasant. The same cannot be said about the resort. We have been given two rooms that did not appear to us as standard rooms in a four-star hotel. Anyhow, these two rooms were very different from the ones showed on the website when we booked. One room in particular was really small, with dirty floor and a dead insect on the window sill. Nonetheless, the main problem was the air conditioning system that was not working properly, and the display was showing a warning message for required cleaning of the filter. Considering the afternoon direct heat, and an outside temperature above 35°C, this was not a detail! We asked for a change but we were offered only the change of one room as a "favour". This made the atmosphere tense and not the expected relaxing stay. Very unfortunate… We did not enjoy our stay completely. A circumstance that partially blurred the pleasure of the amazing seaside. During random conversations, we learnt that also other guests were unhappy about the poor condition of the rooms. In addition, the power went out a number of times. At least twice during the night, and we were woken up by the emergency light. To be honest the facility appeared worn out to us, and just left on the good will of single employees that we found on our way, rather than on the initiative of the management/decision making people. I wonder how it is possible that Conchiglia Azzurra is a four-star hotel. In my opinion, it barely reaches a three-star status.

Do we spent 10 days here. The breakfast of ok just very short and early. (Ends at 9.30) The air conditioning stops every 15 minutes so if it’s hot in summer you will wake up several times to turn it on again. The cleaning is ok. I do not recommend the beach service nor the half pension. People at the reception are kind but the guy running both the inside restaurant, breakfast and the restaurant in the beach is very rude. The service is not good and the food is avarage and expensive. We ended up having lunch at hotel blue everyday. And we went to the beach at hotel blue, it’s next to this and much cheaper.

This hotel is the worst. The reception people are extremely rude, specially if you speak English, is like the hate English turists. The rooms are dump, air conditioning dont work well, the beds are super hard, the TV is a joke, 14" TV that dont turn on. On the bathroom, no lights, the have a cable extension for a little light. I have been to about 32 countries and this is the 3rd worse hotel. They should not call it resort and spa, its should be illegal. The only good thing about this place is the parking which is by the sewage but easy to go in and out.
