We really enjoyed the Concorde Hotel. We stayed for 4 nights. The staff was courteous and helpful, every request was answered immediately. The breakfast was to our liking. The location is excellent: in the old city, near a shopping center and a metro station. We will definitely come back here. If you come in the summer like we did, then bring mosquito repellent with you.

This is a very comfortable hotel well located, if you go out the front door you are in the New-town, if you go across the street and continue for a bit you will find a beautiful water feature in the park , and out the back door for the Old Town where you will find street after street of restaurants. The staff are friendly and the rooms are clean. The taxi rank is 50 metres from the hotel.

My husband and I decided last minute to spend the night in Bucharest, so we booked a deluxe room at this hotel, which is advertised as a 4-star property. The photos online looked amazing, and the rooms appeared bright and inviting. However, upon arrival, the reality was quite different. We checked in around 9 PM and requested a quiet room since we were only there to sleep and didn’t have time to enjoy a balcony (which, by the way, is incredibly tiny!). Unfortunately, we were given a room facing the main street, where traffic noise was constant and disruptive. We informed the receptionist that we would be leaving at 6 AM and asked for a takeaway breakfast, but she told us there was no one available at that hour to prepare anything for us. Not even a bottle of water was offered. Although the room was spacious, it lacked adequate lighting—there was only one window -that opened to the balcony (see pictures). To make matters worse, there were flies on every wall of the bathroom. The bed was uncomfortable, with an incredibly firm mattress—perhaps the hardest I’ve ever slept on. Despite having a matrimonial bed, we were provided with two separate blankets instead of a single one to share. The bathroom door had visible damage to it and paint was peeling away. The shower was outdated, with visible rust and limescale buildup. The splash screen, meant to keep water contained, was too small and ineffective. Additionally, the bath towels were about half the size of what you would expect, and we couldn't find any robes, as advertised. However, there were flimsy slippers available. A small bottle of water ( which is found in a fridge with a padlock on) is $3.50!! In conclusion, if you don’t mind feeling suffocated and don’t require comfort, this hotel might suit you. We travel frequently and have stayed in numerous hotels across Europe, some costing less than $190, where we had outstanding experiences from start to finish. It’s truly a shame that our first visit to Bucharest was marred by this overpriced and disappointing hotel.
