Conference Aston Hotel Birmingham City

I went to the Aston Conference Hotel in the beginning of the month and I've been quite satisfied of this stay! The hotel is in a good spot, 10 min away from the middle of Birmingham, it has a really affordable price range for a 4 stars and a lovely staff! You just have to be careful to close the windows during the night because of the geese and seagulls outside and as an allergic person, I felt like the bed linen wasn't hypoallergic so I needed regularly to clean my nose during the night.. Apart from that everything was perfect, thanks to the staff for this stay!

Really good stay at the hotel for a conference. 5 mins taxi ride from train station. Reception staff were really helpful. Love the eco approach - Naked Sprout loo roll, bin with separate section for recycling. Room was very clean and comfortable. I had dinner in the bar, which was great, and again the bar staff were lovely. Breakfast was delicious - loved the oat jars. Bit of a heat wave weekend so the fan in the room was very welcome! Would definitely recommend this hotel!

The room was very clean, stylish and spacious. The fundamental inadequacy was the lack of air conditioning. I attended a weekend conference here and the weather was very warm. The windows could only be opened a couple of inches. I would describe the temperature in the room as unbearable. It really marred my comfort and enjoyment of my stay here. Furthermore, I asked to be allocated a quiet room and was offered the courtyard side. This was a serious mistake. I was kept awake into the early hours by delegates convening outside in the courtyard to drink, chat and laugh loudly. I complained to the receptionist and they seemed powerless to do anything effective about it. The conference room was very cramped but at least it was air conditioned. The buffet catering at meal times was generally very good, with plenty of choices. The ginger sponge pudding was lacking in flavour, as well as the macaroni cheese. But there were some very tasty dishes too. The staff were generally very pleasant and courteous. I would recommend this hotel and conference venue if it’s not the summer time!
