We spent a delightful week staying at Carramolo. The cottage itself was clean and comfortable. The kitchen had the basic necessities (gas hobs, kettle, fridge and microwave alongside pots and pans, cutlery etc.) which meant we were able to prepare food ourselves for some of the meals. Wifi was also helpful to plan our trips out. The hosts were very nice and accommodated our late-evening arrival time. They also lived nearby, and were contactable by phone if any issues needed addressing (nothing came up during our visit). The space around the cottage was beautifully surrounded with green plants and olive trees which gave it a private, secluded feel. The swimming pool, shared with guests at the other two cottages, sits within the sun terrace, which is clearly the main star of the place. It looks out on the most amazing views of the valley, and is the perfect spot to enjoy a spot of breakfast or an evening drink. The nearest town is El Gastor, which is a 20-30 minute walk away, or about 5 minutes in the car. The latter part of the walk into town does have a pavement, but it is also worth bringing a torch if you expect to be returning after dark. The town is relatively well provisioned, and there are several places to eat and drink, as well as some basic shops. On Friday and Saturday nights the bars were quite busy, so it may have been sensible to book ahead, but we were able to find somewhere to eat both times. The food was very nice, and affordable. The cottages are well situated, making it convenient to visit several of the key Andalucian towns and cities. We enjoyed our trips to Cadiz and Seville, both about 90 minutes in the car and would certainly recommend visiting. Other pueblos blancos are a shorter drive, and well worth seeing – we particularly enjoyed Ronda, Setenil and Grazalema. Most seem to have lovely hikes around them which take you through the national park or via some other area of interest such as a medieval fort. With the via verde de la Sierra you can also rent bicycles to cycle along a disused railway line (so it is pretty flat despite being within the mountains), which we did around Olvera. Apparently it’s a hot spot for birdwatchers, and we certainly saw many vultures near their breeding grounds. We stayed in late June/early July and were treated to incredibly warm and sunny weather (around 30-35 degrees Centigrade). Long hikes were still possible and, despite being very hot, were highly enjoyable - worth bringing water, though. It was also the perfect temperature to spend in and around the pool on the sun loungers. In summary, this was a great place for a rural get-away in the sun, whilst still giving access to a variety of visits and activities if you’re willing to drive. We found it highly enjoyable, and would strongly recommend it.

3 small huts, housing top 2adults, maybe 2 children on couch, but not children friendly to sleep on . (Maximum 4 people allowed, pr hut). Own kitchen, toilet and bath. Master bedroom has AC. Positioned on secluded mountain side, with great, no amazing views on all sides🥰 Good shades at the pool and in front of the house. 20min drive to nearest larger Dia/grocery store. Good relaxing nature, chicken and hens wake you up I'm mornings, bells from mountain goat hoards. So idyllic and relaxing. If you prefer walking distance to stores/restaurants, el Gastor is 1h walk, but much preferred to use car. It is a steep climb back home. I recommend if you want to cut off from busy day life and city stress 😁

It's a lovely place to spend a few days away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Everything is very well-maintained and clean. Wonderful views, and the village of El Gastor is about a six-minute drive away.
