My wife and I came here for a company recognition program and had a great time. The hotel has a lot of great amenities and the service is great. Unfortunately the ocean was full of seaweed the whole week we were there so we weren't able to enjoy the beach. We spent a lot of time by the pool. The food and drinks were okay, definitely overpriced but the staff were great. Would highly recommend for a couples trip.
My sister and I were really looking forward to a relaxing, luxury experience at Conrad Tulum in June, but unfortunately, our stay left us deeply disappointed. For a resort that charges over $400 per night and markets itself as a serene, stress-free destination, the reality fell far short of expectations. The beach—one of the main reasons we chose this property—was completely unusable. There were literal mountains of seaweed piled high along the shore, and bulldozers were actively working throughout the day to manage it. The noise, smell, and lack of access to the water significantly detracted from any sense of relaxation. At no point during the booking process were we made aware of this situation, which felt incredibly misleading. To make matters worse, we had a large scorpion inside our hotel room—on the third floor—which made us feel unsafe and unsettled for the rest of our trip. It entered through a visible gap beneath the door, which could easily have been sealed. This was not just a nuisance; it was alarming and unacceptable for a resort of this supposed caliber. Throughout our stay, there was no meaningful acknowledgment or compensation offered for these serious issues, despite both being reported. We understand nature is unpredictable, but guests deserve to be notified and taken care of when the experience drastically deviates from what is promised. We chose Conrad Tulum for its reputation, location, and supposed tranquility, but we left feeling let down and stressed rather than rejuvenated. I genuinely hope the property will take steps to address these concerns—and would appreciate consideration for a future stay that aligns more closely with the standards Conrad is known for.
I had high expectations for this 5-star hotel, but unfortunately, the experience didn’t live up to the promise. I attended a conference here which was well coordinated with food and events but came a few days earlier and was disappointed. Firstly, there were unexpected charges that weren’t disclosed at the time of booking. I was surprised to see added fees at checkout that were neither explained clearly nor justified by the services provided. For a luxury property, transparency should be a given — not something guests have to fight for. The Hilton honors app told me I would get a 25 credit per day but that was not the case. Secondly, the food was underwhelming and expensive. The restaurants are by reservation only, one of them was booked a month out. The food wasn't great for the cost. The breakfast buffet was good however. The beach was mediocre, beautiful but lots of rocks and seaweed which the staff worked tirelessly to try and remove. The staff were polite and the location is beautiful, but those positives couldn’t outweigh the frustrations. For the rates being charged, guests deserve honesty and a memorable experience — unfortunately, I received neither. There are much better resorts, with more activities, better food and all inclusive that are closer.
