We decided to book our stay with OnMood for our holidays in Mallorca. OnMood is located in the heart of Cala Ratjada just a very short walk away from the harbour and surrounded by plenty of shops. Basically the entirety of Cala Ratjada offers free parking which was also a plus in order to park our rental near the hotel. We received a very friendly welcome and were explained all the next steps to enjoy our stay. We were also offered water in the lobby which is available to all guests, as well as toilets. After getting our keys, we went up the elevator up to our room on the 3rd floor. The room was clean and the bathroom very spacious. We also had the option to turn our 1 double bed into 2 singled beds. The room also had AC (which worked fantastically in this heat!!), a TV and a balcony with view on the square and the harbour. The balcony had a small table and two chairs as well. The room also had a kettle available with two mugs however no coffee/tea available in the room so you’d need to buy that yourself which is disappointing for a 4 star hotel. There is also a safe in the room, but you need to pay 2€ a day to be able to use it. Mini fridge available in the room, nothing inside waiting for you but it does work if you want to keep your own drinks/food cold. Rooms has a double set of curtains which work great to keep the light out in the morning. Balcony had a a nice view and was very clean. If you have a rental, you can’t park your car in front of the hotel or in the nearby streets from Friday 00:00 to Saturday 15:00 due to market taking place right outside the hotel. If your car is parked there, it will get towed. In our experience, the hotel staff told us about it and there was some signs put up in the lobby, therefore we didn’t have any issues, however it’s worth knowing in case the staff forgets to tell you/you don’t see the signs. One big downside is the roof parties. They happen Thursday-Sunday from 21:00 till 00:00. Unfortunately that’s exactly when our holidays were, so we had to say goodbye to sleeping before midnight, or even stay in the room altogether for that matter as the rooftop was right over our room, making the room shake and vibrate the entire night. However, parties do actually start and stop on time and don’t run late, making it a bit easier to plan your way back to the hotel. The brunch was delicious and runs from 8:00 till 13:00. Plenty of coffee and juices options, fruits, yogurts, cereals, pastries, bread, jams and Nutella, cheese, meats, eggs etc. If you want to use the pool and need towels, you can get one from reception but they will charge 10€ as a safety deposit to make sure you give towel back upon departure. WiFi was working fine, staff was lovely, 24hr reception which made our check out so much easier in the early morning hours. We also noticed a luggage room downstairs, presumably if you arrive before your room is available, or if your plane is after check out and you need somewhere to leave your things, so that’s very good to know!
Great location just a 2min walk to the promenade. The family room was very basic and a bit dated. The bathroom had a wet sweaty smell when we arrived. But the receptionist was friendly and came to take a look. They advertised the rooftop to be lively, but during the day the bar is shut and no one is around. The parties they organise don’t start until 9 and end at midnight which is a bit of a shame. The breakfast had variety and we enjoyed, but a shame that you sit in a dark room instead of using the rooftop terrace. This place was handy for a weekend getaway, but I wouldn’t stay here for longer.
Parties in this hotel until 00:00 o clock hence very loud also during the night. We parked our car in front of it the hotel and it was evacuated. No one from personal said that we should pay attention that on the night from Friday to Saturday there is a market and we can’t park a car there.
