The hotel, though not central ,is in an area close to the metro and train station. The hotel advertises rooms with a pleasant view of the harbour, but that depends on your budget. My room was pleasant enough but it did face the motorway and IKEA . Good sound insulation made it a quiet room. Breakfast is buffet style with a large and copious selection of foods. However , would not recommend dining at the hotel as it is far more expensive than restaurants in the area.
We were fortunate to have a very pleasant stay at this hotel. We checked in quite late, with no issues. The rooms themselves are pretty standard, with the beds being decently comfortable. The mini fridge is stocked with items (at a charge), with an iron in the closet. Not too shabby. The view was spectacular, as the hotel sits on the water. The hotel also provides a breakfast buffet all week, and it is quite good. Fresh pastries, eggs, bacon, coffee and juices. Great deal. Our only complaint is that they ask you to schedule a cleaning in advance, as it is not automatic. We scheduled for the next day, and left our room early in hopes that it would be done by the time we got back. When we arrived in the afternoon, they hadn’t come by yet. They came knocking at 4:30 pm, and by that time we were unwilling to leave after a full morning of running around. Hopefully the cleaning schedule could be improved? Overall, we had a great stay. I’d consider swinging by for another visit!
We stayed at Copenhagen Island Hotel for one night and unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. Despite traveling with a baby, we faced a long wait to get our room, which was quite stressful. The front desk staff were not very helpful during this time, and the intercom phone wasn't working, making it difficult to get assistance. Thankfully, someone from the accounts team did help us access the gym area so we could use the restroom while we waited. Another issue was the surprise charge for a baby cot – something we never requested. There was no prior notice about this charge, and it only came up when we saw the final bill. We asked for a one-hour late checkout, which they initially agreed to at no extra cost. But when we raised the baby cot charge, they suddenly claimed it had been “adjusted” with the late checkout – which felt like a made-up excuse after the fact. Overall, it felt like the hotel was more focused on maximizing charges than providing a good guest experience. We wouldn’t recommend staying here, especially for families. Definitely not worth the price. Only good things are the harbour view and Buffet breakfast.
