The hotel is conveniently located in the Back Bar area and close to the main train station. It’s an old hotel that has been beautifully styled, I loved our room even though you can see the age from the bathroom facilities. Having a fridge in the room was great, this is rare in the US hotel experience. Overall, the hotel needs to invest more in quality offerings - decent coffee, glassware, crockery - the room fees are too high to then have disposable items in the room and shared kitchen. There is only one lift in operation and it is slow. The front desk experience at check in was not welcoming or friendly; unfortunately this set the tone for our stay. Consistent, high quality service matters.

One of the most underwhelming hotel experiences we’ve had. Nobody answered the phones despite several attempts to reach the front desk. One of the two elevators was broken during our stay, which made getting around slow and frustrating. The rooms were very small, the TVs were even smaller, and using the remote felt like a workout. Bathrooms were tiny with barely any counter space for personal items. There was no coffee machine in the room, which was surprising. On a positive note, the mattress was newer and comfortable, and the air conditioning worked well. But overall, even with the slightly lower price point, the experience didn’t justify staying here — especially with much nicer hotels just a block away. We won’t be coming back.

In one word- disgusting. This hotel needs to be shut down. The common areas—hallways, stairwells, and entry spaces felt severely neglected and poorly maintained, with scuffed walls, dim lighting, and a generally unkempt feel. Unfortunately, it didn’t get better once we entered the room. There was a lingering musty, cigarette odor, noticeable scratches and scrapes on the walls, chipped paint along the baseboards, and visible hair and dust that made it feel far from sanitary. What’s most frustrating is that the photos online, especially those on Hotels.com, do not reflect the actual condition of the property. It felt misleading. What we saw online and what we walked into were two entirely different experiences. We raised our concerns with the manager but rather than acknowledging the issue or offering a refund, he dismissively said he’d move us to a different room. Given the state of the property and how dismissive the response was, we didn’t feel comfortable staying any longer. I don’t take leaving negative reviews lightly, but in this case, I felt it was important to share. I wouldn’t recommend this property unless serious improvements are made to both cleanliness and customer care.
