Copthorne Hotel and Resort Bay of Islands

Fabulous place to stay. Friendly staff, very clean and the best location to see and access the beautiful Bay of islands. Great breakfast too and an amazing view from our room across the harbour to Russell. We come here often, and it gets better with room decor and facility refurbishments.

Staff on departure were amazing. Lady in the bar / restaurant loved her I didn’t get her name but she always made sure we were looked after every time we had come to the area. She was a Māori lady with her hair in a bun, beautiful lady! Our room on the other hand had a couple things that I was unsure of and I’m not sure if it was because of the discount we where on. Our bathroom had mold around the bath.. bathroom would have smell lingering (always had to close the door and put a towel down to stop the smell), ants where in the bed when we woke up the next day.. had ants by the fridge all the time .. It wasn’t all horrible I’ve just never stayed somewhere that had this before..

we stayed for two nights with a baby. there are no microwaves in the room which was a bit inconvenient but its okay. there is no dishliquid or sponge or anything of the sorts to wash any personal items & when i asked they were barely able to provide dish liquid. the ants were horrible! into everything on the little bench area even the milk. there were ants crawling on the carpet we could see. the cleanliness of the room was good though. however, it felt like it lacked in the bathroom there was gunk on the toilet from previous guests. the room size was good, the amenities were also good & the staff were nice. buffet for both breakfast and dinner was also great! for a short stay id say the hotel is good for that.
