Copthorne Hotel and Resort Solway Park Wairarapa

A great stay for a week for our honeymoon. Staff were so lovely and bent over backwards to make us comfortable. We changed rooms for a poolside view, Pam at reception was fantastic in arranging this. Facilities are so great. Restaurant/Bar, and outdoor area just perfect for meals and drinks/cocktails. Speaking of cocktails the young barman (I forgot his name), was amazing, we decided to have a cocktail a day each to try as many as we could. This barman went the extra mile, and his personality was so lovely, he was under pressure sometimes and handled everything with calm and maturety well beyond his age of 18. Other mentions are the games area/lounge, perfect when it briefly rained. The pools and gym too. Everything covered. We will be back! Thank you for our stay 😊

This obviously in its day was a top notch hotel. It is needing some attention now but with saying that the staff,meals,drinks and service is brilliant. The rooms are very comfortable and quiet. If I visit this part of the country I will definitely stay here again.

They advertise microwave etc in the rooms but there was nothing but a jug. No bowls either so I used a cup for cereal. The shower was good but the bodywash was empty. Average room, was clean though. Overall it was good, I was just unprepared for the lack of amenities in the room. The wifi was the best I've encountered in any motel. Went to the restaurant for dinner one of the nights and my meal was amazing. Have already been booked to go back (by work) next week, looking forward to the restaurant and wont bother taking any food with me this time. There is a Superette close by, Caltex and a lunchbar. The room had two doors-one into the hallway and one directly outside to the carpark. Often rooms seem to have only have one door; I like the weirdest things and I liked that.
