Copthorne Hotel London Gatwick

Stayed twice at this lovely hotel and both times were great. The hotel was great value for money. The staff honoured my room requests both times and were always a pleasure to deal with. The rooms are spacious and nicely decorated. The parking on site is excellent and there were always plenty of spaces with a great park and fly deal. I had a nice view of the greenery and found my room very clean. The room service was great and the food I ate there was of a good standard. Even though there is no lift the staff were more than happy to help with bags. Although all the staff helped to make our stay an enjoyable one I would like to say a special thank you to Angelo, Hayley and Nicholas who went above and beyond to deliver excellent customer service. I would recommend this hotel based on my stay and would happily stay again.

What can I say... I booked here after it was recommended to me by a friend who'd stayed a few years earlier. Well a lot has obviously changed in the years since they visited because the hotel is now a filthy, unsafe hole. I was bitten by who knows what in my room and checked out the next day covered in bites and in the days after, my hands and arms were covered in itchy sores. The Dr diagnosed me with scabies. It doesn't take a genius to figure out where I caught them... But that's not the end of it... On the evening of my stay, I went out for some snacks and was insulted by about half dozen foreign looking males loitering at the entrance. I said nothing back to them yet they felt I deserved to be spat on on my return. I informed the staff about this only to be met with a shrug and a complete lack of interest. If I could leave a -10 star review I would.

What a shame, hotel is still not open to the public. Waste of space, not helpful to the local community
