Coral Sea Resort & Casino

I stayed here for 10 days on a work related trip to Honiara. The room was sea facing and the airconditioning and internet connectivity was a nice upgrade to the place i had stayed at on my previous visit. The food is nice with the option of two restaurants on site. The staff are pleasant and eager to assist. The road was under construction (no fault of the resort) so getting in an d out of the premises was slightly difficult. The pool is just next to the reception so may feel slightly 'exposed' to the elements and visitors. We had to move out after a tsunami watch alert was given for Honiara (on our own accord) but were struck by the lack of an evacuation plan by the staff. All in all, a nice stay , especially when compared to the other places I have stayed at in Honiara.

Very poor cocktail choice at their water front bar. No normal cocktails available. They only allow very poorly designed signature cocktails to be ordered. None of which are whiskey based cocktails. Their restaurant does decent Old Fashioneds. But they made it an ordeal to try to get cocktails from the restaurant. We had to walk to the restaurant and order and pay there, rather than just pay there after we had eaten at the waterfront. Seems silly by management when we just want to spend money at their resort on a very normal order. Train your staff properly and serve your guests normal cocktails if they want them. Thanks to the restaurant staff for making them for us.

The personal is good ( a part the manager who is a extremely rude man). Prices are so expensive for the prestation. Just go away from this place
