Courtyard by Marriott Cologne

Location is great and an easy walk from the train station. Rooms have ample space however the bathroom is very exposed/open to the bedroom which is awkward when traveling with another person. It was super quiet at night and did not feel like a full hotel. Staff was friendly throughout. Breakfast was like 24 euro per person which seems steep for what you get. I wouldn’t do that again.

The hotel is centrally located, which is very convenient. However, I was surprised to find there was no refrigerator in the room—something I would consider a basic amenity, especially during the hot summer months. Additionally, our request for extra glasses was declined, as the hotel does not offer room service. We were told to pick them up ourselves, which was disappointing for a Marriott chain Courtyard property.

We stayed at Courtyard by Marriott in Cologne for a few nights. The location is convenient and the staff was generally helpful, but there were a couple of issues that made the stay less comfortable than expected. The air conditioning in our room didn’t work properly for the first two nights, even after we raised the issue. Eventually, we had to request a pedestal fan just to manage the heat, which isn’t what you expect from a Marriott property. Also, the sink in the washroom was unusually small and oddly placed — tucked to the left corner, making it quite inconvenient to use. Honestly, it felt like only a left-handed person could attempt to use it — and even then, with difficulty. While the hotel has potential and the location works well, these basic design and comfort issues need serious attention.
