Courtyard by Marriott Paris Saint Denis

I am so glad I chose to stay at the Courtyard Paris Saint Denis! The hotel is located just outside Paris, but only a 15 to 25 minute subway ride from all of the attractions. There are three main reasons why I loved this hotel and will choose to stay at it again. First, the air-conditioning is fantastic for summer. Being in Paris in the summer, I called to make sure hotels had good air-conditioning and this hotel has impeccable cooling units in the room. Next, I wanted a large room by American standards. The rooms were very large and spacious. It is rare to get these sizes in central Paris. I also appreciated how quiet the hotel felt, making it easy to rest after long days of sightseeing. Last, I wanted a hotel with a 24 hour fitness center. It was a great gym with free weights, treadmills and other items to keep you fit. The rooms though were magnificent. I loved the new decor in the renovated rooms. I especially liked the bathroom lighting. There is a grocery store behind the hotel and random restaurants within the vicinity, but again, the metro (subway) is close by allowing you in and out of central Paris in 15 to 25 minutes. I will happily stay here again for the comfort, space and easy city access.

There's nothing notable about this hotel. It's clean, it's quiet, it's inexpensive, but it's also really far from Paris, despite the hotel name. By train, it took about an hour to get to the city, and there wasn't much to do or see in Saint Denis. But the staff were friendly, the breakfast was good, and I have no complaints, really.

**Title: Disappointing Experience for a Special Trip – Not Up to Marriott Standards** I stayed at **Courtyard Paris Saint Denis** from **July 10 to July 15, 2025**, for a very special occasion – it was my **first time in Paris** , part of my **birthday trip**, and also to attend the **Linkin Park concert**. Because this trip was meaningful, we specifically chose this hotel and stayed for five nights. A month before arrival, I emailed the hotel to inform them about our stay (something I always do when staying at Marriott properties), but I **received no reply**, which was unusual and disappointing as I usually receive responses from other Marriott hotels. When we arrived, the front desk staff told us our room had been “upgraded,” but said it **did not include breakfast**, even though I clearly remembered booking a room **with breakfast included**. It turned out to be a mistake on their end, which they eventually corrected. Upon going to the room, the **hallway smelled bad**, and we were surprised to find the room **did not have a bathtub**, even though it was **included in our original booking**. Ironically, the so-called “upgrade” actually took away the bathtub. I returned to the front desk to request a room change. The second room had a bathtub, but unfortunately the experience got worse: 1. **There were no towels or tissues** in the room. 2. The **shampoo and body wash bottle was empty**. 3. Worst of all, there was **fresh blood on the bed sheet**. This is simply **unacceptable for a four-star Marriott hotel**. The hygiene, communication, and attention to detail were far below expectations. For the price we paid, and the special occasion we were celebrating, this experience was very disappointing. Unfortunately, I would not consider staying here again.
