Courtyard by Marriott Penang

A new and clean hotel that left a good impression overall. The bed was comfortable—not too soft, just right for a good night's sleep. The air conditioning worked well and kept the room at a pleasantly cool temperature. Staff were friendly and welcoming, adding to the positive experience. Location-wise, slow walk to Penang Art Street, and only about a 10-minute Grab ride to Love Lane. The only downside was the breakfast, which had limited options. Otherwise, a solid stay.

Penang's Courtyard by Marriott was one of the best hotels I ever had the pleasure of staying at! The breakfast at Penang Kitchen was phenomenal! Having stayed at both chain-hotels and locally owned hotels, this hotel featured the best East&West breakfast spreads. Two congee options accompanied by 6 garnish options. Freshly cut fruit. Many other breakfast options. Spoke with Executive Chef, Ahmad and he was very receptive to both praise and Constructive criticism on what areas he could improve upon for the breakfast buffet (which is close to perfect) The staff take pride, as evident by Basar's housekeeping. When a couple of my neck ties were mishandled after being sent in for dry cleaning, Zarina and Kumar (Front Office Manager) did their best to correct things, which included sending one of the ties back twice to get it fixed. They removed those charges from the final bill. Pool is very cool and nice for a hotel property of this level. They have a gym, which lacked a few things (dumbells and yoga mats could use a refresh). Location is good and not far to.most sites in Georgetown. Given the attention to care for a first time guest (the type of care and attention expected at a Ritz, Shangri-La, or St. REGIS), I am impressed. Staff here deserves recognition from corporate office. WILL DEFINITELY STAY HERE AGAIN.

I stayed at the Courtyard Marriot Penang for a business trip and it was a great hotel stay. The hotel room is very spacious and clean. I had a king room with an ocean view and it had a very nice view. The staff was friendly and they were helpful when we wanted to rent a meeting room for an early morning meeting (8 people). They had an employee available before the meeting to help us with the audio and they made coffee drinks for us too. Note we were in meeting room 3 and it did not have a camera for meetings. The included breakfast had a lot of different options - western, Chinese, Indian. I loved the teh tarik! Location wise - this hotel was about a 30 min walk from most of the restaurants we are at (Armenian street) and it had good access to night markets. The fitness center is 24/7 but they turn the lights off between 11 pm and 6 am. In addition, the few times I was there at night, the AC was turned off so it was unpleasant to exercise for long. Overall, a very pleasant stay and would definitely recommend it.
