Courtyard by Marriott Shanghai Minhang

4.5/5. Spent 7 weeks here. Breakfast is great, hotel is newish and clean. Staff are friendly (some girls at front desk are a bit rude). Next to a few restaurants. Often smell cigarettes from hall (not hotels fault..). Room cleaning sometimes forgets to check shampoo/shower bottles. They keep gym at 24 or 25c, I usually turn it down to 22 before running

Reviews are consistent- it’s a nice, clean hotel with staff that will make an effort (may not always deliver). What I want you to know is the location on Google maps is wrong. The hotel is actually at ZiyePlaza a short walk away. Even Marriotts own website has the wrong address. Have pointed it out to the staff (who were mortified) and will keep this 3 star review until it has been rectified- somehow. If you’re looking on Didi look for 紫竹万怡酒店.

The hotel is located approx. 1 hour by car from Pudong international airport. While the location provides convenient accessibility if you are visiting offices in the area, there is little to do or even food to eat after the sun goes down. The room is spacious and clean except that, there was a weird sound of (a) cricket starting in the middle of the night. If I had not been dead tired from my travels earlier in the day, I might have requested for some checks or change of room. Overall, it was an otherwise fuss-free stay. I would stay at this location (but request for a non-corner room) when I next visit the area.
