We stayed in 3 different Marriott properties in our time in STGO. This one was the sleeper hit. Cheapest of the 3 and the best quality. Indoor pool was perfect, and self service laundry really saved us on our 2+ week trip to Chile. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We ate both dinner and breakfast at the hotel, both were solid. Room was spacious and most importantly, the bed was comfortable. Proximity to the mall next store was great for buying snacks and souvenirs. (The pizza vending machine in the mall stole my money though, avoid!) This will definitely be our only Santiago Hotel going forward.

The hotel was typical Marriott which is exactly as expected. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. The big drawback was room service. The Italian beef sandwich was like fatty shoe leather, and the wings had the texture of a rubber dog chew toy. Horrible. (Oh, and the person delivering the food said “are you sure there are only 2 people in the room, so much food.”

Parking validation does not work. I had family come over to visit me or I would borrow cars and our validated tickets at reception never worked. Someone would have to get on the speaker at the gate and raise the arm following questioning each and every time. There was lack of attention to detail when it came to maintenance. I saw drip stains and elements in disrepair from the pool to the lobby that were not addressed during my entire stay. The carpet in my room (and the entire hotel) resembled that of a 2-star joint with stains everywhere. You would think a hotel of this caliber would have moved to hard floors already (more hygienic and easier to clean). Infuriating since so many people from all over the world pass through this hotel and see this while paying some of the highest rates in the city. The positive? Reception staff were extremely professional and helpful. That and the best shops and restaurants in Santiago right next door were the only things that helped justify one of the highest rates in the area.
