Crown Metropol Melbourne

I have stayed here numerous times when travelling for business, as well as the Crown Promenade. For events located at the Exhibition centre, this is a great choice. Rooms are generous, modern and clean. Free wifi is good quality and I have never needed to upgrade. Gym facilities are very good, multiple high end weights machines, several treadmills and a free weights section. In close proximity to many of Crowns restaurants and casual food court. Adjacent to Southbank precinct with more casual and formal restaurants. Also close to tram stop (out side Exhibition Centre) to provide an easy access into the city. Good value!

This is our 1st time here. The rooms are very good. The bed is huge and very comfortable. The air con is set to a perfect temperature. The shower is very good. The general furnishings are in good condition. The small fridge is so packed with mini-bar items there is no room for anything we wanted to keep cool. The min-bar prices are excessive. The block out blinds keep the room dark after the sun is up.

Very disappointing experience. Waited far too long to check in — only two staff on reception despite approx. ten desks being available. Room was absolutely filthy on arrival: dust everywhere, chipped furniture, dirty doorways, and something sticky on the table leg. At 2:30 pm, housekeeping called to say they were too busy to clean the room and asked if we just wanted fresh towels. Completely unacceptable for a hotel that claims to be premium. - feels like poor management and cost-cutting have taken over. You’ll get better value and cleanliness at a three-star hotel in Melbourne.
