Was here last year for one night and it was an amazing stay. Yes it is not a 5 star resort hotel, where 3 people from staff run around you. But the view was amazing! I had the whole building for myself and the breakfast was super nice and freshly made in the kitchen. The manager was also super nice and I had some longer talks with him. As I read other reviews I felt to give my 2-cents, not sure if something changed in 2025, but december 2024 was awesome. BR from Germany

Disappointing experience despite prime location…. We recently stayed at Crown on the Heads in Knysna, a 4-star hotel boasting a prime location and stunning views. Unfortunately, the service fell far below expectations, especially given the hefty price of R8000 per night. Upon arrival at 1:30 PM—well within the early check-in time I had requested (1-2 PM)—no one was there to welcome us. After searching the property for assistance, a lady finally appeared and greeted us with a curt "You are early." This rude response to first-time guests was an unprofessional start to our stay. The host who eventually showed us around seemed unprepared, as though standing in for someone else. This set the tone for the rest of the stay. Our room lacked basic amenities: - No welcome or info pack - Patio furniture cushions left on the floor - No bath mats, coffee, or milk - Tea bags and sugar shoved into a glass container - No dustbin Additionally, most of the cupboards were locked, and for the odd two that weren’t, they were filled with someone else’s clothes, shoes, and even medicine. This made the space feel more like an occupied private home than a professionally run 4-star hotel. The advertised 24-hour help desk was nonexistent; calls to reception went unanswered. Similarly, the coffee machine promised in the listing turned out to be a basic kettle. We also encountered no room service and no communication about breakfast—no times, instructions, or guidance—so we skipped it despite it being included in the rate. The overall experience was awkward and unwelcoming. While the views and location were exceptional, the lack of customer service and attention to detail made the stay disappointing. With so many other properties offering better service at more reasonable rates, we won’t be returning.

Overall, it was a decent accommodation. The staff were friendly, the view was great, and breakfast was good. We also had heating, which was a plus. However, the price does not match the quality. We stayed in the Cinema Suite, and the sofa was torn, the toilet seat was loose, and there were a lot of hairs on the floor from previous guests — the room wasn’t very clean. It also felt very humid, with everything feeling damp. This is definitely not a 5-star accommodation.
