The AC in room we had for the first 2 nights was not working probably, however, most staffs are very helpful, we got upgraded to an ocean view suite. I am very impressed of the service. A la carte restaurants, service and foods are meeting the higher standard in Mexico.
We were completely misled by the website and glowing reviews. This resort was the very definition of false advertising. Upon arrival, we faced a long check in line with only two overwhelmed staff members. It took nearly an hour to check in, but we didn’t receive access to our room until almost two hours later. In the meantime, we tried to get food it was cold, covered in flies, and the meat seemed questionable at best. The drinks were just sugar water, nothing like what they were supposed to be. When we finally entered our “oceanfront” room, it was a complete letdown. The door didn’t lock, there is no central air conditioner. mosquitos were everywhere, the bed sheets had sand in them, and only one electrical outlet worked. To make things worse, the bathroom had loose glass a serious safety hazard. Our friends staying above us had similar complaints. That plus their bathroom didn’t even work. We tried to call the front desk multiple times but no one picked up. We had to call the outside line. When we asked for help, we were told nothing could be done until “multiple complaints” were received. The staff were rude, dismissive, and condescending throughout. While we waited for someone to inspect our room, we went to the pool which turned out to be dangerous too. I scratched my leg on broken tile. When my friends asked for towels, they were told there were none available even though we could clearly see towels behind the counter. It was 7pm and the pool didn’t close until 9pm… I don’t understand how an all inclusive resort runs out of towels two hours before the pool closes. The final straw was bats screeching overhead by the bridge from the pool to the jacuzzi. That night, none of us slept. In the morning, we approached the front desk again, and we were spoken down to and told to pay and leave immediately. We agreed to pay for the one night we stayed, we packed our things, and then left. There are probably more things I’ve blocked out because of how terrible the experience was. I’m just grateful we left when we did. Avoid this place at all costs!!
Absolutely awful place. Probably, the worst resort I have ever stayed at and I had issues in Cuba and I dealt with it. I have traveled to Mexico in excess of 20 times in the last 20 years and I have never seen a resort this poor. No air conditioning in the rooms. No phones, food was awful. Pools were dirty mold on the walls. Staff tried their best but management has no clue how to operate a resort Properly. I'm not sure how this place has The Star rating. It does if I could give it less than one I would have. After 4 days of this disgraceful resort, we checked out, moved to an Airbnb, and it was the smartest thing we could have possibly done it saved our vacation .Crown Paradise should refund my whole package back. And then some more for the grief that they caused me. Ruben and Ana at the rooftop pool were the saving grace of the whole trip? If it hadn't been for them, I probably wouldn't have had a drink the whole time I was there, as I would stand at the bar waiting for drinks and because I didn't speak Spanish I was over looked when Spanish-speaking, people would come up. They would get their drink before me. Even though I stood there for 15 minutes waiting, this shouldn't happen. So I commend Ruben and Ana for the work that they do dealing with this day in and Day Out. I have nothing bad to say about the staff. It's management that needs to understand how to deal with guests concerns. I certainly hope anyone considering booking. This resort will think twice before you waste your time and your money. I'm sure I'm going to get a response from The Crown paradise saying that they value my act feedback, and they're sorry. They didn't meet my standards, but if they were so sorry, yeah, why didn't they fix the problem when I was there? I went down to the front desk. So many times I lost count. So if you were concerned about it, you should have dealt with it when I was there.
