Had a wonderful stay here. Arrived quite early, and was able to check in before 3pm. Had booked with points and had an upgrade to a junior suite. My Platinum Ambassador status was recognized during check in. Room was clean, spacious, with all the amenities included. Bar and restaurant reasonably priced and well stocked. Near train stations to reach all parts of city plus airport. All members of staff were friendly and helpful

Quite decent and very central hotel. Many sights are in walking distance, but it's located in a street that is not too busy. The staff is amazing and the public areas are quite nice. When you get closer to the rooms everything get a little bit more dated. Some areas smell a bit old and dusty, but it's still clean and everything has a metropolitan vibe. The rooms are nice, but are a bit dated as well. There is not a lot of space to place your luggage and everything feels a bit cramped. This is dialed up to eleven in the shower that is so narrow, your elbows will touch the walls from time to time, if you're not build slim. The water pressure in the shower is not great, but it's manageable. There is a fridge in the room, that is quiet but weak. Some people in the reviews complained about noise in the rooms, but in our 6th floor room, facing the back, we enjoyed complete silence. Other reviewers praised the breakfast which is really good. Better than many German hotel breakfasts and worlds away from the abysmal quality that is served in the US. You get a decent selection of bread, fresh fruit, a live cooking station, good coffee and juice and many other choices. If you're a person that enjoys breakfast, this variety could and maybe should impact your choice of accomodation when visiting Berlin. The hotel bar is nice and the staff attentive. The bar food is less than mediocre, we had Burgers one night and they weren't terrible but considering the high price point quite disappointing. The quality reminded me of big fast food chains/cheap diners. To be fair the staff politely tried to manage my expectations when I expressed my wishes on how the meat should be cooked. Unfortunately one night it closed more than one hour early, which really is quite unfortunate, because we planned to be back in the hotel in time to end our day there and couldn't because we found it to be closed. Overall I'd definitely be back if I find a decent rate for the rooms. I think the 4.5 star rating of the hotel is a bit of a stretch, but if they step up their game in some of the mentioned areas this property could really shine.

I’ve stayed at countless hotels around the world, but my experience at Crown Plaza takes the crown for the most bizarre and frustrating encounter I’ve ever had - and I wasn’t even a guest! I accidentally entered their car park by mistake, realizing my error immediately. However, their parking system is set up with a 20-minute minimum charge between entry and exit, forcing me to pay for a full hour despite being there for just a few minutes. While I understand parking fees are standard, what happened next was absolutely unacceptable. The manager - a power-hungry individual who seemed to relish the opportunity to flex her authority - was incredibly rude and offensive. Instead of handling the situation with basic professionalism, she chose to be condescending and dismissive. What made it even worse was that she held up other customers who were trying to enter the car park while she continued her unprofessional tirade. The irony? I experienced the worst customer service imaginable at a hotel I wasn’t even staying at. If this is how they treat people who accidentally use their parking, I can only imagine how they handle actual guest complaints. Crown Plaza clearly needs to train their staff on basic customer service and human decency. The manager’s behavior was not only unprofessional but also created a hostile environment that reflected poorly on the entire establishment. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone based solely on this interaction. There are plenty of other hotels in the area that understand the value of treating people with respect - even when mistakes happen. Avoid at all costs - you deserve better service for your money.
