Crowne Plaza London Kings Cross by IHG

Came from Dubai for a quick trip and I’m so glad I chose this place. Weronika at reception was outstanding! Super friendly, helpful, and professional. She made everything easy from check-in to local tips. Great service, cozy hotel. Would definitely come back! Only thing i would say is don’t bring too much luggage as the rooms are quiet small and for breakfast come as early because it does get very busy, but overall breakfast is very nice and staff are also very welcoming.

Good value hotel in a quiet area. Staff - very friendly staff throughout the hotel. Check in desk was efficient, bar staff friendly, however the restaurant staff at breakfast were very good, taking the time to have a chat and make you feel welcome. Food and drink - breakfast was comprehensive with a good selection of hot and cold dishes. Hot dishes were constantly replenished making sure everything was fresh. On the down side, coffee was bad, and juice glasses seemed the same size as a shot glass. Bar had a good selection of drinks, c£7 for a pint so not too bad for a London hotel. Rooms - we had a family room for 2 adults and 2 children. Consisted of 2 double beds separated by a bed side table. Was tight, but you are in central London. Furnishings were a little tired, with pen scribbles on our headboard and a mattress that was giving way on one side. Location - quiet area, although a few pubs and restaurants close by. Recommend Faros in Holborn which is a 10 min walk away. Enough buses nearby (17 and 63) to get you around.

All good with the rooms and location however at times with the service given this seems over price hotel. I have stayed for few of my business trips due to proximity to office and convenience. However a lot has changed in terms of its service and especially on cleaning rooms. Earlier i used to get my rooms cleaned all day but then realized it was not needed to save effort and add to nature. However the cleaning person seems only trained to make beds and clean bathrooms. If you have kept anything outside or near bin they don't use common sense to take it. Even the towels kept outside they do not change. Really not the kind of service you would expect from such a known hotel. Overall the staff is good and helpful but then this should have been taken care of. Hope my next visit I could see difference. Also the price seems too high at times and have better options available.
