Crowne Plaza Nanjing Hotel & Suites

It is located in the city center, very close to Nanjing Road. The staff are very helpful and polite, the hotel is clean and comfortable, and although the breakfast is not to our taste, you won't go hungry. This was my second stay here, and I hope to stay here again on my next visit.

Firm 4 star hotel. Pretty clean for China. Friendly staff with simple basic spoken English. My non smoking room on 46 floor was clean overall with amazing views of Nanjing downtown core. A bit worn carpet with several stains.TV with only one English channel. Cool massage shower was a great kick to wake up. Breakfast is nice with wide selection of traditional Chinese food with some simple European dishes. Buffet coffee was bad, but Costa coffee is on the first floor of the hotel.

On the offset, there was a dispute in price when they charged way higher than what was in stated in the hotel confirmation email. Despite showing them the email confirmation of the discrepancy in price, they insisted their rate is correct and refused to double check with their reservations team stating the person in charge is not available to provide a solution. When asked if we are able to cancel our reservation due to the price discrepancy, they initially mentioned they are able to and then later informed us that they will charge the card used to reserve the booking. The entire check in process was a 2 hour nightmare with the front desk agent Freya Lee shouting at us. This hotel holds your credit card and you under duress. No resolution was provided so please stay at your own risk! On to the hotel room, it’s extremely dated and small. The toilet taps does not have water running out of the taps and the carpet is sticky. Corridors are dark and dingy. Certainly not deserving of its price. You are off better with Marriott and Conrad at the same price I will never recommend this hotel to anyone but my worse enemy.
