The IHG Crowne Plaza Hotel in Nice France is a beautiful 4 Star Hotel located conveniently 2 blocks from the Nice International Airport. Check in was smooth & the staff was friendly & helpful. The bedroom was lovely with modern decor & a comfortable king bed. The bathroom was sleek & spacious & featured high end bath & body products. The bathroom had a tub & shower combination as well as a tiled wall-in shower. The room had a mini refrigerator, an espresso maker & several bottles of water. We chose the add on the breakfast which was $17 per person at the time. It was a wonderful European buffet. We would highly recommend the Crowne Plaza Grand Arenas Hotel. It is a superb hotel.
Honestly, my stay at this hotel wasn’t a good experience. The only positive thing I can say is that the rooms are spacious, but almost everything else was disappointing. I even struggled to get something as basic as drinking water no complimentary water in the room, I had to keep asking the restaurant, and they only gave huge glass bottles. At night, there was no way to get water because the service was closed, which is unacceptable. What really surprised me was the lack of help from one of the staff at the front desk. Normally, in any hotel I’ve stayed in, the staff are always happy to call restaurants for you or help make a reservation. But this time, she just handed me a phone and told me to call myself. I even said “please,” but she just said “sorry” and refused to help. On top of all that, everything here feels like they’re just trying to make you spend more expensive room service, extra fees on everything, and not even basic amenities like water included. It really felt like I was paying the hotel just to keep paying more for every little thing. Definitely not worth the price.
I usually don’t leave reviews, but this experience was so frustrating I feel the need to share it. To start with, the gym here is an absolute joke. There’s barely any equipment, and not a single weight in sight. I went there to get some early morning exercise, only to find it closed at 8 AM. I asked at the front desk, and they tried to open it for me, telling me it was a technical error and to wait in front of the door. After 15 minutes of waiting like an idiot, no one showed up. I went back to ask what was going on, and I found two of the staff happily chatting about personal matters, completely forgetting about me. Not exactly the service I was hoping for. The lounge is equally disappointing. There didn’t even had forks or spoons, only knives forks, and the food options are extremely limited. On top of that, there's no phone in the lounge to call for a refill or ask for anything. I had to call from my room to request the missing cutlery, and when I was promised someone would bring it to the lounge, no one ever came. The staff answered the phone with a fake, overly positive tone as if they genuinely cared, but nothing happened. Coffee machine in the lounge also give water instead of cappuccino To make matters worse, the staff seems friendly at first, but the customer service is horrendous. It’s clear they don’t take their responsibilities seriously. You could tell they were more interested in chatting with each other than actually assisting guests. Honestly, this place could use a lot of improvements, from basic amenities to staff training. It’s a shame because the location could’ve been great, but the experience just wasn’t worth it.
