Stayed here for work, experience aside staff are brilliant from check in to dining, to cleaners cannot fault them, somehow bagged a free upgrade (may be down to the IHG membership which is free and worth doing) only fault with the rook I had was the shower not suitable for me being 6ft 5 having to duck because of the low ceilings but I'm used to that in life. Room was immaculate very spacious comes with all needed amenities. Location is perfect heart of Nottingham, only real complaint when would be parking, it's not cheap £23 a night, perhaps would be better if those staying were offered a discount and those not paying full price but other than that it is what it is, luckily for me working I park on the street which is free between 10pm and 8am daily, not too bad and it's around £2.80 and hour outside those hours. Hotel spa is great good gym not the biggest for a hotel of this size but decent pool and jacuzzi
Really nice hotel with a nice vibe and seating area upstairs, have generally enjoyed my visits here and hope to come back. Front desk staff are lovely and overly helpful. Security are a bit overzealous however and have been the sour point of most trips here. Lovely hotel overall though.
Several issues with this hotel. I would give one star but the saving grace was a couple of staff members who assisted me with complaints. - some staff members are great (Gemma, Simon, bar staff) while others can be rude and condescending. - 'super king' bed was two singles pushed together, so there's a huge dip in the middle of the bed, meaning you'd have to sleep to one side of the bed for it to be comfortable. Moved me to a new room. - new room smelt like sewage and the bath tub had several moths in it. Not the cleanest of rooms either. - super thin walls so conversations could literally be heard from rooms either side of me. Kept me up until late. - no housekeeping provided - food is overpriced and very below par. Staff did their best to help me which I appreciate. They moved me to a new room and also deposited points on my account, but this really doesn't make up for the experience, considering how much I spent there. Really unacceptable considering it's also supposed to be a 4* hotel.
